Hi! My name is Pilar, but most people call me Pili. I’m from Lima, Peru (born and raised there) and I’ve been passionate about design throughout my life. I’m a visual and UI/UX designer (yes, I design, I code and prototype) with more than eight years of professional experience. I have worked full time as well as freelancing with different design studios, companies and advertising agencies. A few years ago I decided to create my own design studio (Cafe con Leche, which translates to Coffee with Milk), participating in more challenging projects, gaining a lot of experience, and working with different collaborators around the world.
Almost two years ago I moved to Toronto, Canada, to pursue a Masters in Design at OCAD University, wherein I focused on reinforcing and expanding my knowledge and approach to design. During my masters I expanded my expertise as a UI/UX designer and worked within realms of critical design, speculative design, design fiction, experiential futures and learning to create wearable technology devices.
Currently I’m working full-time as a UX/Product Designer at Compass Digital Labs (an innovation lab located in Toronto, Canada), working on freelance projects from clients in Peru and Canada, and doing research for my own projects.
I also happen to have a blog, which I haven’t been updating lately, but I’m working on it. Check it out!
Thanks for visiting my portfolio! I hope you enjoy it!
